Christmas 2015
Dear Family and Friends (Both near & far)
As I look forward for this holiday season. I am thinking of what happen to me this past year.
I have change departments. (I was in dietary now I am in Activities in the Cottage (the Memory Care Unit for dementia patients.) I am loving it. There is so much interactive with the residents and I am learning so much about myself, and everything.
The one thing that was interesting event or whatnot. Is that I had to be CNA certificated, which it makes scent to me.. Since there is usual only one CNA and Nurse for 20 people, and it is even more helpful during the weekends. So, I dove into the classes and clinical with prayers and thoughts of my family and friends (Thank you for those who prayed for me this past year) Let me tell you I have a new appreciated for all the people in the medical careers. I just had a taste on what you do, and WHOA!
So, during September I had my first attempted on the test. I passed the written, and didn't pass the clinical. It is like getting your Drivers ID (a written and a road test). So, I waited and waited for the next attempted to try again. I was the first one to start, and I Pass! I am so glad that I don't need to do that anymore. (I do have to be on the floor every 2 years to keep me updated.)
I am very happy to be where I am, and even some of the residents whom I am getting to know well, and they know me well. They say that that I act happier (they said that I am happy but sometimes I don't 'smile with my eyes.'
I get to use all my skills and talents on making the residents' stay a calm, and happier one. It warms my heart when I hear. "where were you ? I am glad you are here? I missed you!"
I do find that the joy and magic of this holiday season shines in all children's eyes (both young and young-at-heart) It is something about seeing lights twinkling and sparkling in the dark night. I am just hoping that we will have a semi-white Christmas this year.
May God bless you and your family this Christmas, and that you will find the true spirit of love, peace and joy, and that you will keep the true meaning of Christmas in your heart this season, and let it overflows to the next year.
Love, Laura
